As many of my wonderful followers may know, my oldest kiddo will soon be spreading her wings and taking flight. She will be graduating in June. My little Miss Senior allowed me the opportunity and privilege of shooting her senior pictures. Now, with income very tight and basically no wiggle room in the budge for hiring a professional photographer, I had to bust out some ingenuity and my old photography skills from my short stint as a professional to really make some magic happen. What I really wanted was a new Nikon. Granted, I've never had one, but oooooh, the pictures they can take. Absolutely gorgeous! Nope. I didn't have that. Canon? Nope. Didn't have that either. Kodak? Ha... Nope Fugi disposable? Un uh! Nope. Samsung Galaxy SII Camera Phone? Well, as a matter of fact. YES! And I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. Not only did we save a fortune on hiring a photographer - but I was able to take many more (Ok, entirely TOO many) photos. And with Bluetooth, I sent them straight to my computer so I could do some simple editing with my Windows Image Viewer. Over 150 images in 2 days - all ours to keep and view whenever we'd like. No purchases rights required and I can order as many or as few prints as I would like. I fear the most difficult thing is this: Which ones do I print to display on the wall in our home? I simply cannot decide. Perhaps taking less photos from now on... I do have four more kids - surely I will let this be a lesson learned. However, she had fun! And I had fun knowing she was having such a great time. Here is a sample of some of the photos taken with a Samsung Galaxy SII camera phone and Windows viewer editing tools ONLY. Stay tuned for the sorrow-filled "Oh my goodness, I can't believe she is graduating" blog. Unit next time friends, LaVonda
