Meet the Evans Family
We are the Evans Family. There are seven of us.
Our Mom is our teacher. Our Dad is our teacher, too.
Our oldest sibling is Kasidy (Class of 2016). Next is Kris (Class of 2019). Then there's Kody (Class of 2023). Kanon (Class of 2025) brings up middle, and last but certainly not least, our caboose, Kelley (Class of 2031).
We each work at our own pace. We grow in the lessons and ask questions when we don't understand. But unlike public school and the primary lecture learning, we learn in our own way. Some of us are auditory learners, others are visual, and some are hands-on. By utilizing all three aspects, our parents are able to reach all of us, rather than provide a brief once-over that occurs in the public school setting.
Yes, we are different. And different is good. Homeschooling isn't for everyone - but it suits us just fine!

These are very special kids - our kids! I carried them. Together with my husband, we have raised them to be independent individuals. In my mind, it only seems right to educate them. They are our responsibility. After a full high school and college education myself, it is my firm belief that education is more than test scores and government funding. It is the light in their eyes when something "clicks". It is the anticipation of going somewhere new! It is knowing that my children are getting the absolute most without the negative stress that comes from public school. As stated above, homeschooling suits us just fine!
Are you considering homeschooling? Curious on how to get started? I've shared our experiences throughout this site and hope that you have found it informative.
Didn't find what you were looking for? Want to ask a question? We love to hear from our followers.
